Children
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) work across various thematic areas like child rights, protection of children form sexual offence, juvenile justice care, child development, child nutrition, education, immunization, facilitating protection and development of orphan and vulnerable children (OVC), child labours, advocating to save and educate the girl child, prohibition of child marriage, prevention of child trafficking, running and managing helplines for vulnerable children, etc. Many Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) operate shelter homes and orphanages for orphan and vulnerable children (OVC).

Education & Literacy
Quality Education- Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all is the Sustainable Development Goal -SDG 4.
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) working in education undertake various activities like research and study, early childhood care and education (ECCE) or early childhood development (ECD), supporting and strengthening Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), bridge education, girls’ education, child labour back to school, remedial education, sports as part of education, life skills, learning beyond academics, special education for children with disabilities, curriculum development, adult literacy classes, special coaching for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) aspirants, providing scholarships, promoting technological innovations in education, computer education, teachers’ training, employment enhancing vocational and technical education, strengthening school management committees (SMCs), supporting government schools, supporting students admitted in private schools under the RTE 25 per cent quota, advocating for Right to education(RTE), financial literacy, educating the masses and promoting road safety awareness in all facets of road usage, raising awareness on consumer rights and sustainable consumption, establishing and running schools, non-formal education centers, alternative education centers, ashramshala schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV), education resource centers (ERC), mobile education units, adult literacy centers, community libraries, mobile libraries, upgrading existing libraries to digital libraries, etc.
Environment and natural resource management
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) conduct activities like ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources, forests, wetlands, and maintaining quality of soil, air and water, solid waste management, e-waste management, climate change, tree plantation drive, etc.
Most of the activities undertaken by Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) contribute towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal -SDG 12 -Responsible consumption and production-Ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns, SDG 13- Climate Action- Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts, SDG 14- Life below water- Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development and SDG 15- Life on land- Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial eco-systems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
Food and Agriculture
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) undertake various activities like agricultural research and education, food security, eradicating hunger and malnutrition, farmer welfare, training on modern and improved farming techniques, rainfed faming system, sustainable farm management practices, food processing, crop protection, natural resource management, horticulture, medicinal and aromatic plant cultivation, climate smart agriculture, organic farming, dairy farming, facilitate agricultural marketing, market and credit linkages, facilitate establishment of strong cold chain, value addition and preservation infrastructure and facility for horticultural, agricultural and organic produce, fish and marine, dairy, meat and poultry, construction/renovation of rural godowns, post harvest technology and management, capacity building to enhance competitiveness of Indian agriculture and registration of organic products abroad, spices processing in north eastern region, etc.

Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) undertake various activities like awareness, advocacy and research, special studies in medicine and nutrition, promoting mother and child health (MCH), promoting healthcare for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, control and prevention of non communicable diseases (NCD), combating human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), implement national programmes for eradication of malaria, leprosy, control of blindness, tuberculosis, control and eradication of communicable diseases, promoting preventive healthcare, set up and manage hospitals, drug de-addiction centers, promote patient safety, health camps, blood donation camps, food security and nutrition, family welfare, reproductive and child health (RCH), advocating for organ donation, palliative care, training on yoga, establish and run naturopathy center, promotion of information, education and communication (IEC) in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), acquisition, cataloging, digitization and publication of text book & manuscripts on medicine, promotion of proven AYUSH intervention, revitalization of local health traditions (LHT), midwifery practices etc, adolescent, reproductive and sexual health (ARSH), extra mural research projects on Indian systems of medicine and homoeopathy, supporting Continuing Medical Education (CME) in AYUSH, school health and hygiene programme, supplementing mid-day meal scheme through additional nutrition, de-worming initiative, immunization, capacity building and training of health personnel including accredited social health activists (ASHAs), etc.

Legal Awareness & Aid
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) undertake various activities like legal awareness and legal literacy programme for women and girls, provide legal aid, counsel and assistance to victims of violence and trafficking, organize campaigns, seminars and workshops to educate people on legal procedures, cyber laws, Right to Information Act, etc. Eligible persons for legal aid include women and children, members of SC/ST, industrial workmen, victims of natural or man- made disaster, persons with disabilities, persons in custody, victims of human trafficking, etc.

Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) undertake various activities like advocacy, campaign for shelter and safe housing for the poor, resettlement and rehabilitation (R&R), construction of safe and low-cost housing, implementation of National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NULM), slum area development, etc.

Vocational Training
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) undertake various activities like promoting livelihood, implementing various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Standard Training Assessment and Reward (STAR), identifying priority needs for skill training programme, implementing human resource development scheme to provide e qualified and trained workforce to handicraft sector, skill training and skill upgradation of Scheduled Caste (SC) youth and women, providing vocational training on traditional/modern vocations to ST youth and women, educating and equipping potential and early stage entrepreneurs, catalyzing a culture of entrepreneurship and self-employment, impart training in soft skills, spoken English, financial and digital literacy, facilitate rozgar mela/career fair, facilitate placement, imparting training to persons with disabilities (PwDs), capacity building of marginalized and special groups, etc. The various sectors in which Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) provide vocational training include but is not limited to auto, healthcare, retail, security, IT-ITeS, beauty and wellness, sports, driving, agriculture, horticulture, dairying, goatery, aquaculture, piggery, food processing, weaving, handlooms, stitching, tailoring, embroidery, zari, computer and IT enabled services, gems and jewellery, handicrafts, travel and tourism, hospitality, construction, capital goods, etc.

Women Development & Empowerment
Kesharwani Shiksha Samiti (KSS) undertake various activities like providing support services to women, promoting gender equality and empower women, setting up shelter homes for women in difficult circumstances, setting up working women hostels, preventing gender based violence (GBV) or violence against women (VAW), rehabilitating sex workers, imparting vocational training, forming women self help groups (SHGs) and cooperatives, facilitating credit and market linkages, entrepreneurship development programmes (EDP) and promoting self-employment, advocating against sex selective abortion and female foeticide, raising awareness on save and educate the girl child (beti bachao beti padhao), implementing one-stop center scheme, operating women helplines (WHL), prevent trafficking and rescue, rehabilitation and re-integration of victims of trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation, etc.
